What's New at BoatBaseHQ โ March 26, 2026
Hey [First Name],
Quick note from the BoatBaseHQ dock this week โ we've been heads-down on some stuff that I think you're going to like.
๐ณ You Only Pay When You Invoice. Full Stop.
We heard the feedback loud and clear: nobody wants to pay for a lead and then find out the job didn't pan out. So we've made it official โ credits only burn when you submit an invoice. That means you can bid, message, and communicate with boat owners for free. You pay a flat credit only when you close the job and send the invoice. No cuts, no percentage of the job, no surprises. Just a flat fee when you actually get paid.
First 10 invoices are free for new providers. After that, top up credits whenever you need them. Simple.
๐ธ Before/After Photos Are Now Required on Job Completion
Starting now, providers must upload before and after photos when marking a job complete. Here's why we did this:
Trust is everything in marine services. Boat owners are handing over their most prized possession. Photos close the loop โ they show exactly what was done, protect providers from disputes, and give future clients confidence that the work was real. It's a small ask with a big payoff for everyone.
For providers: think of it as building your portfolio, automatically.
๐ฅ๏ธ Tip for Boat Owners โ Spring Commissioning Is Now
March through May is commissioning season โ time to get your boat inspection-ready for the warmer months ahead. One thing most owners skip: zincs. If your boat's been sitting in salt water all winter, check your zinc anodes before you do anything else. Corroded or missing zincs mean your hull and drive train are being eaten instead of the sacrificial metal. It's a $20โ$50 fix that can save you thousands. Find a dive service on BoatBaseHQ if you're not comfortable getting in the water yourself.
โ Tip for Marine Pros โ Fill Out Your Profile Completely
Providers with a complete profile (bio, services, photos, payment methods) get matched to 3x more jobs than those with bare-bones profiles. Spend 10 minutes filling in the details โ certifications, boat types, service radius. It directly affects how often you show up in owner searches.
Thanks for being part of this. We're building something real here โ a place where good marine professionals get connected with good boat owners, without all the noise.
See you on the water.
